Essays, credittests and reports.

It had to come. We are now proceeding the end of the academic year, and things are getting tougher. This is the two months who will decide if I'm good enough to be enrolled to the second year. I have to work harder. Read more. Read even more than that! I have plans to reread everything I've read in the subjects we are gonna have exams in this spring. If I got time!

For histology I have to finish the embryology. Luckily I passed the embryology I credit test (most of my class actually failed it..), and there is one more. Then I just have to pass my minitests and the last slide-test; because I don't have to take the credit test then. And I can decide myself when to take the exam (with a few limitations).

For anatomy I have to hand in my essay in special dissection on monday. It's nearly finished. I just have to make some adjustments and make a simple scheme which have to follow the essay. My essay is about the obturator nerve, by the way. Then I have to make my minitests (again) and the CNS-credit. The exam is HUGE, and the material I have to read is some thousand pages.

Latin is an another story (you did read my Latin-post earlier?). I probably failed the credit last week (I focused on the embryotest instead..) But give me a couple of weeks, and I'll be able to decline corpus alienum in all 5 cases in both singular and plural.. And all the terminology and rules for comparative adjectives... If I can make the credit, I can make the exam.

Then I have to do a couple of credits; biology (I have to have my lab-booklet controlled and accepted, and pass a test which will be held in the end of this month) I also had to hand in a lab-report last week.

The other credit is czech language, I feel I somehow got control on it; I have to take the reading part, the medical vocabulary credit and MAYBE the grammar credit. Time will show!

And then, suddently, we are in the exam period. The period of reading, overdose of coffee, nervous breakedowns and failed trials on the exams. And if lucky; passing an exam from time to other..

The only thing I actually is finished with, is the first aid. Hurray!!

Headache inc.

Ohh.. This wasn't a very good day. I knew it allready when i saw my schedule for the first time 3 weeks ago:

3 hours of histology practical
3 hours of anatomy practical
3 hours with czech language

It was okay until my czech teacher decided to skip our 1,5 hour lunch breake, and just give us a half hour. Microscopy + formaldehyde + no time for lunch (had to go home and fix something) + no possibility to take a breake = severe headache. Luckily, my classmates have allready told our czech teacher that we would love to swop the time for our class, and she finally agreed. Hopefully, we will have our class on tuesdays from 07.15 instead of thursdays from 14.00 as now. And in the mean time (until the changes gets confirmed) we will have our long breake back, thus starting at 15.00. It will definitly help! I just hope that our dear exchange students will manage to take their credit quite soon, because we can't make changes until they're finished. Their timetables doesn't fit ours.

Then there are a few more things that happens:

-Tomorrow we will have our first semester test in latin. I'm not prepeared. I tried to learn all the endings of all declensions exept 3rd wovel-declension, but my thursday-head wouldn't let me.
-I'll go shopping for a gown tomorrow. There will be a faculty ball in a couple of weeks. I promise to post some photos and descriptions later!
-SiljeCam and I are going to arrange a traditional norwegian dinner (pinnekjøtt) saturday. We have invited a lot of classmates from different parts of the world. Hopefully, they will find salted, soaked, damped and fried lamb ribs with "mashed swede" (kålrotstappe) tasty..

And now.. Anatomy credit

I'm on the track! Can't say I nailed it down this time, but I passed. The topic was internal organs; circulatory system, respiratory system and digestive system. Written test, 40 min for 26 questions. (Name all levators of pharynx?)

28 out of 56 students in my class passed this test.

And then I only need to attend to one czech class, do a pre-oral exam (which i actually don't have to pass) and then go home for 3 weeks! Yay!

Flight tickets is allready bought, mom and dad is informed about my arrival, the houserent here is paid and everything is prepared..

I just hope that my mail arrive before I leave Czech republic; I'm waiting for the newest album from kent, a swedish rock band I just love.

So what to do back home? Order some new CD's, reading for my czech credit test, read even more for my oral exam in biophysics and biostatistics, visit my brother with family, go skiing with my father... It's a long list!

And my brother showed me the new Mac Book Air yesterday.. I love it! I'm really thinking of buy it. But not yet.. Not before I have passed this entire year.
