You passed the test.

Maybe the best sentence to hear when you study in Czech Republic. Because the opposite is just as frequent.

I passed my latin credit, and are now allowed to take the final. It will be on wednesday at two. Everything I pass make it much easier for me. My hope now is to pass histology (credits and final), latin final and maybe biology credit before I start my summer vacation.

I also have to have my study record signed for hepatitis B vaccination, and go for a check-up for my spine (some x-rays have to be taken). And the last things to do is an auditory test due to my head trauma in the accident and go for a consultation with my czech teacher.

Essays, credittests and reports.

It had to come. We are now proceeding the end of the academic year, and things are getting tougher. This is the two months who will decide if I'm good enough to be enrolled to the second year. I have to work harder. Read more. Read even more than that! I have plans to reread everything I've read in the subjects we are gonna have exams in this spring. If I got time!

For histology I have to finish the embryology. Luckily I passed the embryology I credit test (most of my class actually failed it..), and there is one more. Then I just have to pass my minitests and the last slide-test; because I don't have to take the credit test then. And I can decide myself when to take the exam (with a few limitations).

For anatomy I have to hand in my essay in special dissection on monday. It's nearly finished. I just have to make some adjustments and make a simple scheme which have to follow the essay. My essay is about the obturator nerve, by the way. Then I have to make my minitests (again) and the CNS-credit. The exam is HUGE, and the material I have to read is some thousand pages.

Latin is an another story (you did read my Latin-post earlier?). I probably failed the credit last week (I focused on the embryotest instead..) But give me a couple of weeks, and I'll be able to decline corpus alienum in all 5 cases in both singular and plural.. And all the terminology and rules for comparative adjectives... If I can make the credit, I can make the exam.

Then I have to do a couple of credits; biology (I have to have my lab-booklet controlled and accepted, and pass a test which will be held in the end of this month) I also had to hand in a lab-report last week.

The other credit is czech language, I feel I somehow got control on it; I have to take the reading part, the medical vocabulary credit and MAYBE the grammar credit. Time will show!

And then, suddently, we are in the exam period. The period of reading, overdose of coffee, nervous breakedowns and failed trials on the exams. And if lucky; passing an exam from time to other..

The only thing I actually is finished with, is the first aid. Hurray!!

First semester is over!

I got "vyborne" on my czech credit, as I allready wrote. The test was in two parts, all had to be done in 30 min.. First part was medical terminology. I got 9,5 out of 10 possible. Then there was the second, larger part with czech vocabulary, grammar and sentences. I had only 2,5 points lost due to errors. And I also pointed out a task which demanded knowlegde of masculine animate plural in accusative, and we haven't learned it yet. My teacher apologized that!

Exam in biophysics is an another story. I almost failed, due to the statistics. To pass, you'll need at least 75% correct answer. I used the wrong t-test, and then I didn't get very much for my statistics. The rest of the oral exam was about these topics: "eye as an optical instrument", "biological effects of ionizing radiation" and "principles of protection against ionizing radiation". Not easy! But I pulled it through!

I now have a whole weekend with no reading. It's quite odd. Next semester starts on monday with lecture week. 'Till then, take care!

Dictators and other authorities.

Meet my parents. Political correct teachers (and one of them; part time "rugguggla"...). I invited my parents to read (and comment) my blog. And they apperently did. But they're not happy about my.. perception of my enviroments. Thus, today I've done some editing. It may be some more later. But I believed in the freedom of speech!! I don't have that many readers yet, but you might see what's different.

Other things: I had my first exam today. I dont know if I failed or passed, doesn't matter, actually. But it would be nice to pass.. Time will show! It was the pre-oral in biophys btw. My plans for the day is to pack my stuff into a suitcase, wash my entire flat and do the dishes. Tomorrow morning I'll head for the airport. Mom, dad! I'm coming home! =) Even if you don't like my blogging style.. =)
