HURRAY!!!
A group of norwegian students gathered in the park yesterday. With flags, balloons, flutes and food.. All associated norwegians was warmly welcomed too.
After a couple of hours of games (the photo showing the traditional "bag run"), champagne and small talk, did we lit up the bbq.. Ohh.. just one problem.. Who did actually plan this part? No grills. No fire. A round of discussion, and two of the ANSA-guys decided to go and buy grills.. Problem solved!
We had a great time in the park, and luckily, the rain started to pour down after the BBQ-session.. Most of us came home dry (but not me).
Later on we all met in the restaurant at Grand Hotel for dinner. The decoration was beautiful with norwegian flags and tablecloths, but the system of ordering food was not perfect. I was not satisfied. Not SiljeCam either; she waited 3 hours and 15 minutes from she arrived to she got her food... Not the first time we have had problems with the restaurant's capasity when ordering table for more than 3o persons. But the food was nice and the party excellent!
The 17. of may is the norwegian national day. A celebration of our constitution. In Norway we celebrate with a huge children's parade and by showing off our beautiful national costumes. :)

in spite of all the waiting for the food at grand,and it was almost in vain, the food tasted good when it eventually came..or may it be that it is like the german proverb "hunger macht der beste koch" (eg when you're hungry anything tastes good..i feel a bit sorry for the one guy that had to make all this food,all in a sudden..
Maybe it was a bit like in "Ramsay's kitchen nightmares" in the kitchen... I'm glad I'm not a chef anyway.
